![]() You want a good education? You can find it at UoP. At the end of the day, it is still what you make of it. Higher education is down the list.Ĥ) There are tons of lists and articles that list the top or bottom universities. If the top of the list are coaches, then that school's highest priority is that of a minor league sports franchise. All private schools are totally for-profit.ģ) Look at the highest salaries of University (or state) employees. OK, so maybe state schools need to keep a non-profit status, but seriously, nobody is working for free. As we can see now, many other universities have followed that model.Ģ) To say that they are "for-profit" is a meaningless cliché. Not all of us, maybe with current full-time jobs, or a family, can drop everything to become a full-time college student. I recently read a post from a professor who did dislike teaching there because he felt pressure to show leniency to help improve graduation rates. It’s actually a lot more structured so far.Īs far as being labeled a diploma mill I would also disagree. However, it doesn’t differ much from the local community college I went to when I took some of their classes online. I am going because I have a lot of experience in the field I work in and just need to check the box to move up. Texas (Austin) was one of them - I wonder what he thinks of it today? He talked about his, and his brothers', educational history: "My dad always said he was the charter member of the 'Three, Seven, Nine, Zero Club.' Three sons, seven high schools, nine colleges, zero degrees." Maybe UoP was one of the nine. Owen Wilson was really funny when he hosted SNL a couple of years ago.
